Digital Data Submittal & Access

Montana SHPO is paperless!

On June 1, 2024, SHPO launched e106, a web-based application that allows for digital submittal of consultation documentation and does away with the requirement for paper letters, inventory reports, and site forms.

NEW: Instructions for Submitting Data and Tracking Review Stage

*A State of Montana login.mt.gov account (also known as File Transfer Service account) is required to upload documents and to review your project’s review status. If you already have a State of Montana account, log in to the portal with your existing username and password. Otherwise, click the "Create an Account" button above.

Electronic consultation will streamline the review process by eliminating wait time for postal delivery and mail distribution. Submittals are assigned to a reviewer upon receipt, and users can track the review status by signing in to the database.

Explore this page to learn more about the new e106 platform:

  • What to Submit (right column) - Quick references to help you prepare for upload.
  • Demonstration videos (below) - Coming soon!
  • Virtual Q&A (below) - Register for monthly sessions
  • Database User Guide (below) - Download PDFs for various database tasks
  • Download the 2024 version of the Montana SHPO Consultation Guide, including new appendices on creating a complete site record.

We value your input as we work together through the transition toward digital review, and an improved consultation experience for everyone. Please share your feedback and ideas for how we can continue to improve the digital data submittal and access experience for everyone. mtshpo@mt.gov.
