We are dedicated to the history of Montana and the surrounding region. By preserving a diverse collection of fine art and historical artifacts, we ensure our heritage remains accessible. From producing immersive exhibits and public programs to assisting fellow historical societies, the Museum serves as a central hub for research, education, and preservation.
The Museum also preserves the Original Governor's Mansion as a historic house museum. The Education and Outreach Office offers guided tours, school services, conferences, workshops, classes, publications, hands-on activities, and other public events.
The Montana Historical Society's Museum is accredited by the American Association of Museums, the highest honor a museum can receive.
