The Montana Historical Society Library & Archives awards two competitive fellowships annually to researchers studying Montana history.
The James H. Bradley Fellowship supports academic research that makes a significant contribution to the study of Montana history. Fellows are required to spend three weeks at the Library & Archives conducting research in our Reference Room.
The Dave Walter Research Fellowship supports researchers involved in public history projects focusing on the study of local history. Fellows are required to spend one week at the Library & Archives conducting research in our Reference Room.
An annual research fellowship for students currently enrolled in a Montana institution of higher education, to conduct research at Montana Historical Society, Montana State University (MSU) and/or University of Montana library and archives.
